La Vérité, Florian Zeller’s cult comedy with a crazy cast
Florian Zeller’s celebrated play La Vérité returns to the Paris stage. From January 23, 2025, it will be performed at the prestigious Théâtre Édouard VII, directed by Ladislas Chollat and featuring a top-flight cast.
A plot combining humor and manipulation
This comedy explores the twists and turns of lying and its consequences. The story revolves around Vincent, a man convinced that hiding the truth is often preferable. Especially when it comes to his wife, his best friend and his best friend’s wife. But will the truth he jealously guards finally escape him? A game of manipulation and deception unfolds, with everyone trying to hide their secrets, in a fast-paced narrative full of twists and turns.
A prestigious cast
For this new version, Stéphane De Groodt, Sylvie Testud, Clotilde Courau and Stéphane Facco will share the stage. Directed by Ladislas Chollat, winner of 6 Molières, the show promises exceptional acting. Chollat is best known for his direction of Le Père, also by Florian Zeller, which won the award for Best Private Theater Production.
A worldwide success
Created in 2011, La Vérité was an immediate success in France and abroad. It has been performed in over 30 countries. Christopher Hampton’s English adaptation won Best Comedy at the 2017 Laurence Olivier Awards, the British equivalent of the Molières. This success testifies to the universality and timeless humor of the work.
