Six years after Karl Lagerfeld’s death, his cat Choupette continues to live a luxurious existence and remains a social networking icon. Our Figaro colleagues have some news for you!
On February 19, 2019, the fashion world lost Karl Lagerfeld, legendary couturier and artistic director of Chanel. Among his legacies, one figure remains emblematic: his cat, Choupette, whom he described as the “love at first sight of his life”. Now 13, Choupette lives a life worthy of her status, between luxury and celebrity.
Choupette, star on Instagram and among celebrities
Choupette is followed by over 263,000 followers on Instagram and continues to attract the attention of stars like Kim Kardashian and Taylor Swift, fascinated by her aura. At the Met Gala 2023, dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld, several celebrities even dressed up as cats to pay tribute to him. Although the cat didn’t take part in the event, her current owner, François Caçote, is making sure she maintains her peaceful, regal life.
Life at the peak of comfort
Represented by My Pet Agency for its collaborations, the cat leads a privileged existence. Fed in Japanese porcelain bowls, brushed daily and surrounded by her new feline companion, Siana, she retains her luxurious habits. As François Caçote points out, Choupette retains her princess character, typical of her heritage.
