Three chapters, one unique collection
The classic elegance of the decorative arts
The first lots, from the Kugel gallery, feature sculptures and objets d’art meticulously selected by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé. These pieces embody their pronounced taste for the decorative arts and their quest for artistic perfection.
The lens of master photographers
The second section of the sale features iconic photographs by Andy Warhol, Helmut Newton and Alice Springs. Highlights include four Polaroids donated by Warhol, as well as sensual shots by Newton, sublimating YSL’s famous tuxedo.
Male nude drawings
For the first time, more than 20 never-before-seen drawings by Yves Saint Laurent are presented. These works, dedicated to the male nude, transcend anatomy to reveal a poetic and intimate sensuality, reflecting the influence of artists such as Egon Schiele and Robert Mapplethorpe.
