Italian fashion house Prada unveils a new documentary series in partnership with National Geographic, dedicated to ocean preservation and its sustainable Re-Nylon line.

The ecological commitment of Prada and National Geographic

Since 2019, Prada has been transforming its iconic nylon into a sustainable version, Econyl, made from marine and textile waste. From now on, all its collections will use this infinitely recyclable fiber. To highlight this commitment, the brand is launching a four-part mini-series dedicated to raising awareness of ocean pollution.

The first episode, developed with National Geographic CreativeWorks, features Benedict Cumberbatch in Norway’s Lofoten Islands. There, the actor discovers the impact of plastic waste, particularly abandoned fishing nets. The project is part of the Sea Beyond educational program, which donates 1% of Re-Nylon sales to ocean preservation.

A worldwide exploration

Future episodes promise to explore regions of the Atlantic, Europe and Central America, tracing initiatives in favor of marine preservation. This series illustrates Prada’s desire to blend luxury and sustainability, while raising public awareness of crucial issues for future generations.
