Louis Vuitton transforms Milan’s streetcars

@louisvuitton

To celebrate the 20ᵉ anniversary of its collaboration with Takashi Murakami, Louis Vuitton invests Milan with two streetcars transformed into immersive cinema and café, available until January 28, 2025.

A unique experience in the heart of Milan

As part of its outdoor activations, the Maison Louis Vuitton has collaborated with Milanese transport operator Azienda Trasporti Milanesi (ATM) to reinvent two historic 1920s streetcars. These iconic vehicles, adorned with Takashi Murakami’s colorful motifs – including the famous monogram and the smiley flower – circulate through the city center, transforming a simple ride into an artistic and cultural immersion.

Louis Vuitton Café Tram and Cinema Tram

  • Café Tram: Departing from Piazza Fontana, this tramway offers a literary café in a bright pink décor inspired by Japanese culture. An invitation to discover a world blending contemporary design and Japanese traditions.
  • Cinema Tram: Depart from Piazza Castello for this blue streetcar equipped with benches and screens. It shows remastered versions of Murakami’s iconic short films for Louis Vuitton, Superflat Monogram (2003) and Superflat First Love (2009).

These streetcars run daily from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 8pm. Reservations can be made directly on the Maison’s official website.

A campaign of luxury and creativity

Following landmark initiatives such as the Place Vendôme carrousel and the giant trunk on the Champs-Élysées, Louis Vuitton is pursuing its strategy of raising visibility through bold outdoor installations. With this project in Milan, the House confirms its pioneering role in blending art, culture and luxury in the public space.
