Bryan Adams at the Andres Thalmann gallery, let’s run!
Best known for his musical successes, Bryan Adams has also established himself as a renowned photographer, capturing striking portraits of personalities from diverse worlds. The exhibition Bryan Adams – EXPOSED explores this artistic side of the Canadian singer.
An intimate exploration of celebrities
Since the 1990s, in parallel with his musical career, Bryan Adams has distinguished himself in the art of photographic portraiture. With a style that blends honesty and depth, his photographs reveal often little-known facets of celebrities such as Mick Jagger, Kate Moss and Amy Winehouse. Adams succeeds in capturing the essence of his subjects thanks to a closeness that reflects a great deal of trust between the photographer and his models.
Some works, like the portrait of Kate Moss, offer a soothing atmosphere, while others, like Mick Jagger, explode with energy and eccentricity. Playing with the emblematic symbols of his subjects – Taylor Swift with a guitar or Tommy Lee behind his drum kit – Adams reinvents the codes of traditional portraiture, often adding a humorous touch.
An evolving artistic style
The EXPOSED exhibition also features more recent works from his In Colour series. Here, Adams introduces bold, vivid colors, transforming his portraits into veritable pieces of pop art. These aesthetic choices create a new dynamic, amplifying the cult status of the figures he immortalizes.
