The Spanish Puig Group, a major player in fashion and beauty, is about to finalize a key step in its collaboration with Charlotte Tilbury, the famous British cosmetics brand. By 2031, Puig will become the sole owner of this iconic label, marking a strategic turning point for both companies.
A five-year acquisition
In 2020, Puig had already acquired a majority stake in Charlotte Tilbury Limited, a brand renowned for its innovation and worldwide popularity. This new stage, which will take place between 2026 and 2030, will see Puig gradually increase its share until full ownership is reached in early 2031. This progressive acquisition model reflects a prudent and visionary strategy, especially as the beauty industry is experiencing exponential growth. Indeed, the sector could exceed $580 billion by 2027, driven by the rise of premium and luxury brands.
An enduring partnership
During this transition period, Charlotte Tilbury, founder of the eponymous brand and renowned makeup artist, will retain a minority stake. She will continue to play an active role in the management and creative direction of her house. According to her, this collaboration with Puig is a natural evolution, built on a shared vision and a constant commitment to innovation. Launched in 2013, Charlotte Tilbury has established itself as an essential reference in the world of cosmetics, thanks to iconic products such as Matte Revolution lipstick and Airbrush Flawless Foundation foundation.
Puig: expanding into Love Brands
With this acquisition, Puig strengthens its already impressive portfolio, which includes such iconic brands as Nina Ricci, Rabanne, Byredo and Dries Van Noten. This strategic positioning highlights the Group’s desire to expand its influence in the field of Love Brands, those brands that create a strong emotional bond with their consumers.
