Birgitta Arts at the Salon des Beaux-Arts, an artist not to be missed!
The Salon des Beaux-Arts 2024, which celebrates its 160ᵉ anniversary at the Réfectoire des Cordeliers in Paris, will feature exceptional artists, including Birgitta Arts, a designer whose work on paper seduced our editorial team.
An international artistic career
Born in the Netherlands in 1964, Birgitta Arts grew up in a variety of cultural environments, between Morocco, Mexico and Chile. After a career as a graphic designer in New York, it was at the School of Visual Arts that she discovered printmaking, a decisive turning point in her career. Since 2007, she has devoted her work to the creation of monotypes, a printing technique, before diversifying her practice by creating works directly on paper without the intervention of the press.
Based in Charente-Maritime, this internationally acclaimed artist explores universal themes, combining the tactile and the visual to question our relationship with the world and with sensations.
Birgitta Arts’ works are characterized by their ability to capture the essence of materials. Each gesture tells a story. Working in particular with knives, she plays with textures and imprints to reveal the depth of paper as a sensitive membrane.
Le Salon des Beaux-Arts 2024
Birgitta Arts has been selected to exhibit in the Naturalist, Paper and Photography section, from December 11 to 15, 2024. The public will be able to discover her most recent works.
Under the high patronage of Emmanuel Macron, this event, which celebrates its 160th anniversary, is held at the Réfectoire des Cordeliers, in the 6ᵉ arrondissement of Paris. Organized by the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, the fair offers an exceptional platform for established and emerging artists, in several sections: Painting, Sculpture, Textile, and Naturalist, Paper-Paper, Photography and Sculpture.
See you on December 11 for the vernissage of the Naturalist, Paper-Paper, Photography and Sculpture works. We hope you come across Birgitta Arts!
