Zouzou, Philippe Katerine’s new album
After a memorable performance at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where he appeared as “Dionysos-Schtroumpf”, Philippe Katerine is back in the spotlight with an album entitled Zouzou. The name of the project, released today, refers to his dog and explores a variety of themes between humor and poetry.
A collection of singular songs
In this album, Philippe Katerine offers seventeen tracks that illustrate his crazy vision of everyday life. Topics range from a tribute to a café he used to frequent, to a love letter to cinema, to an ode to nudity. His daughter, Edie, also contributes to the album in a duet in which she imitates artists such as Angèle and Clara Luciani, proving her talent as an imitator. Together, father and daughter sing: “On n’est pas tout seul en nous.”
Between humor and reflection
Philippe Katerine, known for his offbeat style, delivers songs that question the banal with originality. In Zouzou, he imagines an alternative reality where Hitler plays Fortnite, and expresses his emotions in tracks like “Que Deviens-tu”, a melancholy reflection on the passage of time. This album, produced with hybrid sounds, includes collaborations such as that with Nk.F, known for his work with PNL.
An upcoming tour
Fans of Philippe Katerine can look forward to a series of concerts across France in April. He will perform in Rouen on April 11, in Bordeaux on April 15, and will close the month with a concert at Le Zénith in Paris on April 30. This tour promises to be a unique experience for fans of Katerine’s whimsical and thoughtful universe.
