The Fête des Lanternes, a magical event at La Villette

The Parc de La Villette in Paris will once again host its famous Fête des Lanternes on Saturday, December 7, 2024, starting at 5pm. This magical stroll, free and open to all, promises to put stars in visitors’ eyes. And it’s sure to add a touch of enchantment to the run-up to Christmas.

Since 2015, this event has been lighting up the capital, bringing participants together around hundreds of colorful lanterns. For the 2024 edition, the park will be transformed into a poetic and musical space. Visitors will stroll around with lanterns in hand, adding their own touch to the parade’s sparkle.

To take part, it’s essential to prepare in advance, as there will be no lantern sales or distribution on the day of the event. The lanterns, made from paper, silk and wicker, must be produced in workshops held before the parade. What’s more, there will be no release of flying lanterns, but rather a soft, warm atmosphere to enjoy along the route.

This lantern parade is part of the “Winter Party”, which also includes events such as Little Villette, a circus and a Christmas village. This festive program adds to the many events and light strolls that will brighten up Paris in December 2024.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity to discover the illuminated Parc de La Villette, and let yourself be transported by the magic of light and music. It’s the perfect time to share an enchanting moment with family and friends.
