The Saint-Sulpice church hosts a unique show, Paris Cœur de Lumières, from October 16 to November 23, 2024. This experience immerses visitors in the history of the monument and that of France.

For a month, the 6th arrondissement of Paris becomes the setting for an immersive historical fresco. The church of Saint-Sulpice, a neoclassical jewel, is transformed to tell the story of its construction, influenced by the tensions of the Fronde and the French Revolution. Over 150 costumed extras move among the sculptures and walls, bringing to life the families and rivalries of the period.

A grandiose staging

Designed by Damien Fontaine, the show uses video mapping, immersive sound and dialogue recorded by professionals, including Annie Duperey. Monumental 360° projections cover the interior of the church, complementing the actors’ performance. This combination of technology and performance creates an immersive experience lasting 1h30.

A journey through time

Spectators follow the history of Saint-Sulpice, from the Fronde to the beginnings of the Revolution, through a story that combines local anecdotes and national events. Costumes, original piano music and visual effects enhance immersion. Two performances are scheduled each evening at 7pm and 9pm.

Paris Cœur de Lumières offers a new perspective on this emblematic monument, and invites visitors to rediscover Saint-Sulpice from an innovative and artistic angle. An opportunity to experience the history of Paris in a different way.
