Élisabeth Colombo: art between resilience and technology

Élisabeth Colombo is a visual artist and IT project manager with a passion for art, technology and robotics. Her artistic work finds its greatest expression in the “Scarlet Warrior” series.

The Scarlet Warrior: a symbol of inner strength

Born of a period of burn-out, the Scarlet Warrior takes shape and grows on canvas as a symbol of resilience. Initially depicted as a simple red dot at the heart of dark chaos, she gradually occupies space until she is transformed into a strong, impassive samurai warrior. She is often accompanied by a cherry blossom, a symbol of rebirth and ephemeral beauty. The evolution of colors, from black to bright, vivid hues, reflects her journey towards serenity and clarity. This warrior embodies resilience and inner strength, illustrating Elisabeth Colombo’s struggle against personal storms, transformed into a poetic, emotional dance.

As in the art of kintsugi, where the scars of repaired ceramics are highlighted, the Scarlet Warrior bears marks of vulnerability that reveal her strength. “It’s as if every brushstroke or detail in my work becomes a symbolic scar, a trace of this ordeal I’ve had to go through and overcome.” Her art reflects the idea that resilience is not about erasing hardships, but about making them precious marks. Each of her creations is accompanied by a symbolic text that illustrates and deepens the meaning of the piece.

Art and technology: Buddy, an ambassador for humanity at the heart of art

Watercolor is the artist’s medium of choice, symbolizing the journey of life with its unexpected and serene moments. She also uses a variety of techniques, such as impasto, to create nuances of opacity and transparency. But Élisabeth’s approach doesn’t stop at painting. To deepen this artistic experience, Élisabeth Colombo collaborates with Buddy, an expressive humanoid robot created by Rodolphe Hasselvander, founder of Blue Frog Robotics. Buddy, designed to embody technology at the service of humanity, becomes an emotional companion that enriches La Guerrière’s art. Buddy interacts sensitively and poetically with viewers, interpreting the works and offering an immersive experience. This project, entitled “Scarlet Warrior and Buddy”, perfectly reflects the bold fusion of human, machine and art.

Together, Buddy and La Guerrière create a symbiosis of strength and gentleness. Art and technology come together to offer a modern, poetic interpretation of resilience.

Elisabeth Colombo will be exhibiting at the Mairie du XVIème arrondissement in Paris, from November 22 to 24.
