Rising Hollywood star Jeremy Allen White will star as Bruce Springsteen in a new biopic about the legendary American rocker. The film, entitled Deliver Me From Nowhere, will explore the creative process behind Springsteen’s cult 1982 album Nebraska. Deliver Me From Nowhere, a biopic by Scott Cooper
This musical biopic is the brainchild of Scott Cooper, acclaimed director of Hostiles with Christian Bale. The film is based on the book Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska by Warren Zanes, published in 2023, which looks back at the genesis of the American star’s introspective album.
Music biopics are all the rage, as evidenced by Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman. This project about Springsteen, a figurehead of American music with over 64 million albums sold, seems to be a new opportunity to capture the life of a rock legend.
Jeremy Allen White, a wise choice
Jeremy Allen White, revealed in the series Shameless and then applauded in The Bear, has won over audiences and critics alike with his intense roles. In The Bear, his portrayal of a chef beset by family challenges won him the Golden Globe for Best Actor in 2024. Recently, he also shone in The Iron Claw, alongside Zac Efron and Lily James, playing a member of the Von Erich wrestling family.
White’s physique and charisma, comparable to Springsteen’s, make him a perfect choice for this demanding role. He will be joined by Odessa Young as one of Springsteen’s companions, adding a touch of drama to the film.
