The iconic Ellen von Unwerth exhibits her erotico-glamorous photographs at the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, offering a plunge into the daring world of women’s fashion. It’s superb.

In the heart of Paris, in the refined setting of the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme, Ellen von Unwerth presents a selection of striking and provocative photographs, on view until December 1ᵉʳ. The exhibition reveals the essence of her style: assertive glamour, tinged with humor and subversion, that reinvents the way we look at models.

A former model, Ellen von Unwerth experienced fashion from the inside. In the 1970s, she observed how women were often reduced to objects of desire. It was this experience that inspired her to create images in which women regain power over their image. This is reflected in a series of emblematic shots: Drew Barrymore hilariously inverted, Naomi Campbell in a daring pose, and Claudia Schiffer in her early days for the Guess brand.

An art of joy and daring

Ellen von Unwerth stands out for her original, caring approach to her models. “When I photograph women, I don’t ask them to be happy and beautiful, so I wouldn’t call that joy ‘unreal’,” explains the photographer. I like to have fun on set and bring out the energy and character of each person or model I photograph. What interests me is capturing a moment of pure, real joy and showing it as it is.” Above all, she seeks to immortalize moments of real joy, far from imposed standards, adding a human and spontaneous touch to her work.

For this exhibition, the glamorous atmosphere continues at Café Jeanne with a cocktail created in collaboration with the hotel’s head bartender. This spicy cocktail, created for the event, can be enjoyed while contemplating the photographs, as an echo of the intense emotions each image arouses.

A tribute to women

The works by von Unwerth, on view in the hotel lobby and restaurant, trace a feminine history of fashion photography, reinvented with humor and piquancy. The exhibition pays homage to women, celebrating freedom and personal expression.

For lovers of art and fashion, this unique exhibition in the heart of Paris is an opportunity to discover a whole range of contemporary photography.
