Jasper Huang exhibition at Pullman Paris Montparnasse
Taiwanese artist Jasper Huang offers a tactile exploration of human perception in an exhibition at the Pullman Paris Montparnasse.
From October 21, 2024 to January 7, 2025, the Pullman Paris Montparnasse will host an immersive exhibition by Jasper Huang. This talented Taiwanese artist invites the public to reflect on the limits of our sensory perceptions.
An artist of singular origin
Born in 1978 in Taiwan, Jasper Huang became known as a child for his unique artistic vision. Despite a childhood marked by mild autism, at just 12 he entered an art program with no formal training. After 15 years exploring fashion design, in 2019 he chose to devote himself entirely to art by moving to Paris. The French capital, with its cultural dynamism, has brought a new dimension to his work.
Exhibition theme: “Exploring the Boundaries of Art and the Mind
At the heart of the exhibition, tactility is a central element. Huang uses materials such as ink and mineral pigments to question the limits of the human senses. The works, rich in texture and color, reflect human desires and instincts. Through each piece, Huang invites the public to explore the link between touch and thought.
“Origins of Behavior”: an exploration of human behavior
In this series, Huang revisits ancestral human behavior. He draws inspiration from Roman warriors and their armor, symbols of power and authority, which he juxtaposes with contemporary desires for power and domination.
“Forms of Desire”: a fluid representation of desire
This series explores human desires in various forms. Jasper Huang uses fluid paint and the traces left by ink as metaphors for the constant evolution of desires. The works oscillate between poetic evaporation and brutal solidity, symbolizing the duality of desires between dream and reality.
A sensory and emotional immersion
Huang’s exhibition offers an emotional immersion in which the tactile becomes a gateway to the inner exploration of human desires. The intimate dialogue he creates between art and the senses enables us to better understand human nature and the invisible forces that influence our behavior.
