This original collaboration between theChampagne house and Jean-Michel Basquiat ‘s heirs has resulted in a collection of three bottles and boxes, featuring the New York artist’s iconic drawings. The famous Dom Pérignon shield is revisited with Basquiat’s signature crown in yellow, blue and green. This artistic project highlights the parallel between Basquiat’s work and the 2015 vintage, renowned for its complexity and marked contrasts.
Dom Pérignon, a strategy based on rarity
This new cuvée is aimed at collectors and young enthusiasts of original capsules. By teaming up with renowned artists, Dom Pérignon continues to cultivate a bold, luxurious image. This is not the first time the brand has explored this path. In 2022, it launched a collaboration with Lady Gaga. However, this campaign was condemned a year later. Against a backdrop of slowing champagne sales, from 325 million bottles shipped in 2022 to 299 million in 2023, the luxury goods market stands out for its growing demand. This trend is particularly marked internationally, where exports now account for 57% of sales, compared to 45% ten years ago.
