Margot Robbie, muse of Chanel N°5
Chanel stars Margot Robbie in a new promotional clip for its iconic N°5 fragrance, directed by Luca Guadagnino. A glamorous ad that we watch over and over again to dream.
Announced in September as the new face of Chanel N°5, Margot Robbie now embodies this legendary fragrance. The new film, entitled “See You at 5”, transports the Parisian essence of Chanel to the Californian landscape. Luca Guadagnino, known for his cinematic works such as Call Me by Your Name, signs the two-minute commercial, alongside Jacob Elordi.
Margot’s missed appointment
The film evokes a missed rendezvous, where Robbie drives off in an Aston Martin, while Elordi crosses Malibu on a motorcycle. The setting, with its gleaming chrome and blue ocean, embodies the alliance between theAmerican Dream and French luxury. The music chosen, Veridis Quo by Daft Punk, celebrates the French touch, adding a note of modernity to the piece.
The duet between Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi reflects the masculine-feminine duo, often present in Chanel campaigns, but here subtly addressed. This contrast marks the permanence of the N°5 spirit, where each detail reinforces the other, without ever erasing it.
N°5: a myth in perpetual reinvention
According to Thomas Du Pré de Saint Maur, Director of Perfumes and Beauty at Chanel, the film is a continuation of the dialogue between cinema and perfume, a concept dear to the House. As he explains, Chanel N°5 is both a perfume anchored in time and capable of evolving. This myth, born in 1924, has stood the test of time thanks to its balance between freedom, modernity and durability.
Chanel proves once again that, even in an ever-changing world, N°5 remains a timeless icon, standing the test of time while reinventing itself for each new generation.
