Gilles Lellouche, Camille Cottin, Isabelle Huppert: zoom on the French stars honored at the Venice Film Festival
The Venice Film Festival 2024 welcomed a host of French talent, including Camille Cottin, Gilles Lellouche and Barbara Pravi… And each brought his or her own sparkle to the event.
Isabelle Huppert, an icon of French cinema, shone in a very special way as president of this year’s jury. At 71, she captivated the eye with her inimitable style. Wearing an imposing red dress by Balenciaga, she also opted for a relaxed hairstyle: a loose ponytail that highlighted her Venetian blond hair. Diamond earrings and subtle make-up in bronze tones completed a look that was both modern and timeless.
Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, another key figure in French cinema, caused a sensation at the premiere of Luca Guadagnino’s film “Queer”. Far from her Sylvie Grateau character in Emily in Paris, she surprised everyone with a strapless gown embroidered with flowers. A bold, colorful choice that contrasted with the gothic trend of the moment. She also rounded off her country look with oversized rose-gold jewelry from Pomellato.

Camille Cottin brought an avant-garde touch to the Mostra. She reaffirmed her status as a style icon with an outfit by Christian Dior. By mixing skirt and pants, a controversial trend, she proved that she wasn’t afraid to shake up codes while remaining true to a sophisticated aesthetic. Her Tiffany & Co. jewelry also added a touch of refinement to an already outstanding Mostra look. Gilles Lellouche, on the other hand, surprised photographers with an unexpected hair transformation. He sported a new hair color alongside Raphaël Quenard and Ludivine Sagnier!
Present for the screening of Finalement, Claude Lelouch‘s latest film, Kad Merada caused a sensation on the red carpet alongside his co-stars, including Elsa Zylberstein and Barbara Pravi, who, in her first major film role, dazzled with her presence as well as her musical performance. The presence of French stars in Venice was not only notable for their participation in the Mostra, but also for their ability to combine tradition and modernity, audacity and elegance, confirming once again the importance of French cinema on the international scene.
