Hôtel Astra ****: a star-studded revival in the heart of Paris

After three years of painstaking renovation, the iconic Hôtel Astra ****, located in the vibrant theater and entertainment district, reopens its doors.

True to its family spirit and starry universe, the hotel now offers four creative, celestial worlds. Designed by renowned architect Philippe Maidenberg. Each world is a tribute to eminent personalities, embodying the diversity and cultural richness of the capital.

Philippe Maidenberg, accustomed to collaborating with artists, has this time paid tribute to four emblematic figures. These personalities, each exceptional in their own field, are celebrated through dedicated floors and rooms. Offering guests a unique immersive experience.

Hotel Astra ****: 1 hotel, 4 universes

Marie-Agnès Gillot: Star dancer in 7th heaven

Hotel Astra

The hotel’s top floor, before the clouds, is dedicated to Marie-Agnès Gillot, star of the Paris Opera. The four rooms inspired by this dancer are imbued with poetry and light. A dark parquet floor recalls the National Ballet stage, while a huge bas-relief immortalizes Gillot’s steps. Touches of powder pink and mirrors adorned with dance bars add a special softness. A tribute to the delicate world of classical dance.

Daniel Auteuil: Behind the scenes

Hotel Astra

To celebrate Daniel Auteuil, a key figure in French cinema, Maidenberg has created rooms with a deliberately raw design. The centerpiece is a blond wood panel used as a headboard, evoking the behind-the-scenes action of a film shoot. The desks are reminiscent of flight cases, and a few photos from his films subtly disrupt the graphic, masculine allure of the rooms on the 2nd and 5th floors.

Claudie Haigneré: Astronaut dreams

The immaculate rooms, reminiscent of a stripped-down space capsule, represent the world of Claudie Haigneré, astronaut and scientist. An infinity mirror above the bed simulates a porthole to the galaxy. The scientist herself chose the exact shade of sky blue for the carpet. Neil Armstrong’s first step on the moon is immortalized on the coffee table, and a Plexiglas bubble suspended in room 300 offers a unique experience.

Bouglione family: The star trail

Finally, the tribute to the Bouglione family, circus legends, is reflected in the spectacularly decorated rooms. An artist’s entrance in the guise of a bed canopy, a red and blue carpet, and bedside tables imitating elephant pedestals recreate the magical world of the circus. The swings add a theatrical touch, paying tribute to the values of transmission and unity so dear to this emblematic family.

A living room “just like home

Philippe Maidenberg also imagined a living room of over 200 square meters, designed as a gigantic open loft. Separate alcoves provide both conviviality and privacy. A natural skylight illuminates the velvet seats and copper-colored mirrors. A grand piano and bookcases in stained oak and brass add a resolutely Parisian touch.

Wellness area and indoor pool

Hotel Astra

Hotel Astra **** takes the immersive experience a step further with a wellness area featuring an indoor pool, fitness room, sauna and steam room. This wellness refuge, located in the hotel basement, offers a physical and holistic break in the heart of the city.

In addition to offering an unforgettable stay, Hotel Astra **** makes a point of cultivating conviviality with its charter of shared pleasure. Guests can enjoy an All Day long buffet available in the group’s 17 establishments, scattered across the 2nd, 8th, 9th and 17th arrondissements, allowing them to savor juices, hot drinks, travel cakes and sweets at any time of day.

With its bold renovations and creative tributes, Hôtel Astra **** reinvents itself, offering guests a unique Parisian experience, combining modern comfort with cultural immersion.

Unbelievable!
