Michelin keys: a new distinction
After 4 years’ work, the MICHELIN Guide teams have rethought their selection of hotels. From now on, the famous guide intends to independently recommend establishments that are true destinations. The aim of this award is to direct customers to establishments that excel in all areas. Like the architectural choices, the craftsmanship and the assertion of a distinctive personality.
For this new selection, the MICHELIN Guide teams have chosen to highlight establishments that place the art of entertaining at the highest level and contribute to forging unique experiences.
The Michelin Guide’s selection teams unveiled the first Michelin Clef awards in the first half of 2024, and 9 Parisian hotels were awarded the prestigious 3-key distinction .

The Paris prize list
Parisian hotels awarded the Trois Clefs Michelin distinction include 5 of the capital’s 12 palaces. La Réserve, Four Seasons George V, Le Bristol, Le Meurice and Plaza Athénée.
The other four addresses are also among the most prestigious. This highly selective list includes establishments such as the Ritz Paris and the Cheval Blanc. The two remaining hotels are charming, atypical addresses that meet all the Michelin Clefs selection criteria.
Le Saint James
The Saint James Paris is an atypical private mansion in a detached building. Better still, a building that looks like a rural château surrounded by a walled garden. Villeroy House
With just eleven rooms and suites, the Hotel Villeroy offers as much luxury as the Parisian palaces. Each of the suites is of presidential class.
