Iris by Chanel will be featured at the next “Jardins, Jardin” trade show.
For its fifth participation in the Salon “Jardins, Jardin”, Chanel is renewing its line-up, choosing this year to honor the Iris Pallida.
From May 30 to June 2, 2024, a new edition of the Salon “Jardins, Jardin is back. It will be held at the Villa Windsor park in Paris’ Bois de Boulogne! This event is a must-see destination for those who consider gardens and plants as essential elements. More than just decorations!
This year, “Jardins, Jardin” affirms the need to support the alliance between nature and culture through the theme “Cultivated Natures”. This new edition also highlights Chanel’s Iris Pallida line. A floral and woody scent found in many of the House’s fragrances. Notably in Chanel N°5N°19, La Pausa and Comète.
“I love the idea that perfume, so intangible and impalpable, comes from something concrete. Real and very artisanal. Like the earth, flowers, harvesting”, says Olivier Polge, creative perfumer for Chanel. Previously, the luxury brand featured May rose, rose geranium, Grasse jasmine, camellia and orange blossom.
“L’Iris de Chanel”: an olfactory journey
“Iris butter is obtained from the rhizomes. And not flowers. There’s something indefinable about the smell. Floral, powdery and woody. Iris is a scent shaped by man, in terms of all the steps involved in obtaining its extract. At Chanel, we make our own grade of iris in our own fields.“ says Olivier Polge.
From irises in bloom to the various stages of rhizome transformation, this 300-square-meter garden will transport visitors to the Mul family’s farm in Pégomas, near Grasse. Exclusive supplier to Chanel for nearly forty years.
