Why do Parisian women swear by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian?
Maison Francis Kurkdjian was born in 2009 from the meeting of Francis Kurkdjian, a renowned perfumer behind many successes, and Marc Chaya, a former associate of Ernst & Young. This founding duo, with complementary talents, imagined a territory of sensual, generous, and multi-faceted free expression, with perfume naturally at the forefront.
In the world of perfume, Francis Kurkdjian holds a prominent place. Nothing destined him to be a perfumer, but at the age of 13, he discovered this profession when his dreams of becoming a star dancer at the Paris Opera and a fashion designer collapsed. In the shadows, he then created mythical perfumes such as Le Mâle, Fleurs du Mâle, and the iconic Madame by Jean Paul Gaultier… Guerlain’s Rose Barbare, My Burberry, Kenzo World, or Dior’s Eau Noire, he’s also behind them.
It was only in September 2009, while still working for major brands, that Francis Kurkdjian co-founded his eponymous house with Marc Chaya, who is its President. Success followed swiftly, with creations pouring in and the Maison expanding rapidly.
With around ten boutiques and points of sale on almost every continent (Europe, the Middle East, America, Asia, Oceania), and around thirty perfumes in its olfactory wardrobe, the Maison’s reputation is well established. But if you’re not yet very familiar with this brand but would like to be introduced, let us guide you!
If you like fresh perfumes, opt for Petit Matin. With its notes of Calabrian Lemon and Provence Lavender subtly mingled with Orange Blossom and Musk, this superb trail evokes the freshness of the morning. Gentle Fluidity (Silver) may also appeal to you.
If you swear by floral scents, we recommend the eau de toilette ‘L’eau à la rose’, which offers a contemporary vision and brings a modern touch to the iconic rose. This feminine fragrance reveals itself to be a fruity floral perfume with gourmand top notes, featuring the combination of lychee and pear. L’eau à la rose unfolds on the skin with a delicate floral freshness, very airy and long-lasting.
For enthusiasts of bold perfumes, showcasing oud wood? OUD, Satin Mood is made for you.
Lastly, if you’re a fan of amber fragrances, we can only recommend the cult perfume of the house: Baccarat Rouge 540. A global best-seller!
