YNDŌ Hôtel: a designer setting for a gentle Bordeaux getaway
Nestled in a 19th-century mansion, the YNDŌ hotel stands out for its completely unique style and warm atmosphere… A real cocoon of softness where it’s good to stay.

The history
Already manager of a brasserie and two oceanfront hotels in Biarritz, Agnès Guiot nevertheless felt the irrepressible urge to create a new establishment. Just as well, the end of the 2000s marked a turning point for Bordeaux, which became a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The eyes of the world were then turned towards majestic Gascony.
Faced with this growing popularity, Agnès – who studied there – decided to take a trip to the port city. Her first appointment was at 108 rue de l’Abbé de l’Épée, and she didn’t expect to immediately fall in love with this 19th-century townhouse – but the magic happened, and the facts are in! The lovely YNDŌ (pronounced ‘INDO’) adventure begins.

A 12-room 5-star hotel
Over a period of several years, Agnès refurbished this magnificent residence, in which she felt at home, and transformed it into a 5-star hotel with 12 rooms, all unique.
The designer prepares, maturing every nook and cranny of the place until 2014, when the YNDŌ hotel finally opens its doors. The gamble paid off: the 5-star hotel is a warm, elegant and relaxed setting where hospitality is elevated to the art of living.
YNDŌ is an innovative hotel concept, “GENELUX”, a contraction of generosity and luxury, which Agnès can’t imagine going one without the other. It is in this spirit that she has achieved the perfect balance between impeccable service, which restores its letters of nobility to hotels of this standing, and conviviality, direct human rapport, fine, without condescension.

A unique, resolutely designer decor
Velvet sofas, hand-crafted ceramics or another poetic console… At the YNDŌ hotel, the decoration of the common areas as well as the rooms is just breathtaking. And it’s signed by the owner herself!
A pure self-taught interior architect and designer, Agnès has an innate talent for understanding a space and its potential for transformation. This is exactly what happened when she discovered the family home that would become the YNDŌ hotel.
The upscale layout of the bathrooms and the meticulous choice of furnishings, giving it the air of a design gallery, are her hallmarks in every corner of the establishment and its Jardin des Senteurs. Every piece of furniture, every object and every work of art has been found by Agnès, revealing her refined and innovative taste. The materials are noble and soft, and everything is round and inviting… It’s a feast for the eyes, and makes you want to touch everything!

An intimate ‘home from home’ atmosphere
Agnès has conceived the establishment as a beautiful home that guests can easily make their own. Indeed, guests don’t just get a room to stay in, but a whole universe, a big warm house for them! It’s like being at home, and with good reason! Every detail is personalized by our staff. Agnès makes a point of welcoming her guests herself, spending time with them, guessing at their expectations… Often, she’s the one in the kitchen! She offers a gourmet cuisine based on seasonal, home-grown produce. She even makes the delicious jam for breakfast!
Although the close relationship with guests is very strong here, YNDŌ is still a confidential address, as no one outside the hotel can afford to stroll in for a visit or a drink.
Since its creation, this cocoon of softness has been attracting more and more visitors from all over the world, in search of a little GENELUX… The regulars sometimes pass on the address under the cloak, while dreaming of preserving this little Bordeaux paradise just for themselves.

And for nature lovers, head for…
La Cabane YNDŌ in Cap Ferret
For those wishing to stay as close to nature as possible, Agnès Guiot recently opened a Cabane in the heart of the oyster port of Piraillan, Cap Ferret.
At first glance, it may look like an ordinary fisherman’s hut, but once you’ve crossed the threshold… it’s not! Decorated with Agnès’s distinctive touch, you’ll marvel at the clever mix of materials (wood, ceramics, velvet), pastel colors and meticulously sourced objects, scattered here and there like the sumptuous ceramics or the fish portraits, signed by a local painter.
Adorned in natural, sandblasted hues, the magnificent living room opens onto an open kitchen, while the bedroom adjoins the bathroom – also open – and its sculptural pewter bathtub.
With its soft, soothing atmosphere, this designer cocoon promotes a certain ‘slow life’, a very special art of living that lovers of Cap Ferret will find nowhere else…
There’s no doubt about it: the Yndo cabane is the new confidential setting for an authentic, timeless interlude.
